How to Dress for Freezing Temps and Stay Safe Outdoors


With record-low temps hitting many regions across the country, the American Red Cross urges the public to dress appropriately as people head outdoors and face winter weather.

Dr. David Markenson, chair of the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council, provides winter weather tips to keep you safe when you are active outdoors. When it comes to frost bite, common susceptible body parts are your nose, ears and fingers. If you think you have frost bite, the most important thing is to get out of the cold environment and then seek medical attention.
