“I hope to make a large-scale impact and be an agent of positive change for many years to come,” Miller said in accepting the award.

John Miller, the CEO of the American Red Cross on Long Island, received the 40 Under 40 Award from Long Island Business News on Jan. 24. The award was presented at the 15th anniversary celebration of the 40 Under 40 Awards program, “a commitment to recognize the rising stars and future leaders of Long Island,” held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, N.Y.

Miller leads the American Red Cross on Long Island in providing humanitarian services to more than 3 million residents, including responses to high-impact events such Hurricane Sandy and the Suffolk County wildfires. He was appointed CEO of the American Red Cross’ Suffolk County chapter in 2011. He later oversaw the consolidation of the Suffolk and the Nassau Red Cross organizations into one, stronger, Long Island chapter.

“I hope to make a large-scale impact and be an agent of positive change for many years to come,” Miller said in accepting the award.
