All future shelter locations will be announced as opening information is determined. Information on shelters is available at the Red Cross public shelter site-finder, http://www.redcross.org/find-help/shelter, and via the Hurricane App that can be downloaded free at iTunes and Google Play.

The shelters will remain open until they are no longer needed. Red Cross workers will continue to work with all the families involved until all of their emergency needs are met.

The Red Cross will provide food, beverages, a safe place to sleep, health and mental health services for those in need.

People coming to the shelters should bring:

  • Bedding for each member of the family (although the Red Cross has some bedding available, we are asking people coming to the shelter to bring their own bedding to ensure we can give comfort to as many people as possible)
  • Diapers and formula for children
  • Prescription medicines
  • Toiletries
  • Food for special dietary needs
  • Please note that the only animals permitted in Red Cross shelters are service animals; for safety and health reasons, we cannot accommodate pets.
  • Anyone looking to volunteer or help fund disaster relief may visit redcross.org or call 1-800-REDCROSS.
