Volunteers on Stand-by as Red Cross Monitoring Severe Weather Threats

JACKSON, MISS., MONDAY, APRIL 28, 2014 — The American Red Cross Mississippi Region is working closely with government officials and community partners to monitor and prepare for the severe weather forecast within the state. Red Cross volunteers across Mississippi are on stand-by to respond if and when needed. Emergency supplies are pre-positioned around the state for rapid response.

“Although we have five chapters in the state, we are one Red Cross," said Bob Devaney, Disaster Services Director, American Red Cross Mississippi Region. “We work together as a team to ensure our preparedness and response efforts are coordinated.”
