Red Cross Bay Area Chapter Celebrates Solano County Volunt

FAIRFIELD, CA (June 26, 2013) – The American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter is proud to announce the 2013 Solano County Volunteer of the Year, Alzinia Pailin.

The Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to an individual who best exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism and who has contributed significantly to operations, programs, and services as well as the mission of the Red Cross.

In the past year alone, Alzinia has gone beyond the call of duty, taking on numerous roles, which has contributed tremendously to the success of the Red Cross programs in Solano, including the successful 2012 Heroes Breakfast, with 200 guests in attendance to honor local heroes, which raised a total of $11,000.

She not only leads monthly volunteer meetings but also attends Chapter leadership meetings, and provides input on ways to develop county disaster volunteers. As a technician, Alzinia responds to Disaster Action Team calls throughout the year and coordinated teams to those calls. As a caseworker, she ensures client needs are met and are followed up with them until their cases were ready to be closed.

  • Community Preparedness: April Salvadori
  • Disaster Services: Pat Morales, Bill Wilson and Elaine Florkowski
