ALBANY, N.Y. (Oct. 9, 2012) - The American Red Cross of Northeastern New York (ARCNENY) is offering a course in Cat and Dog First Aid on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 33 Everett Road, Albany, NY 12205. There will be a fee of $70.00 for the course, which includes material costs (instructional booklet and DVD).

This course combines lecture, discussion, video and skill practice to provide the knowledge and skills participants need in order to provide care for their cat or dog in an emergency. Participants will learn emergency preparedness for cats and dogs, and prompt effective first aid actions to protect themselves and the animal from further harm, injury or suffering.

The instruction choices are as follows: Dog First Aid, Cat First Aid, and Cat and Dog First Aid.

Course length: 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours depending on course option selected
