Red Cross Responds to Large Fire


GREENEVILLE, TN – October 19, 2012 – Volunteers responded to a large structure fire on Depot Street early this morning, providing refreshments to around 50 emergency workers. Later in the day volunteers will provide lunch for about 50 emergency workers. The Red Cross also set up tents and chairs for emergency personnel to rest from battling the blaze.  Nearby business were notified in case evacuations where ordered. The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nations blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and there families.  The Red Cross is a not for profit organization and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to preform it's mission.  For more information, please visit www.redcrossnetn.org or call 423-638-6441. ###END
