Red Cross Responds to Large Fires


GREENEVILLE TN- October 22, 2012 Volunteers responded over this past weekend to two large commercial building fires in downtown Greeneville Tennessee. The first fire broke out on Friday with Red Cross volunteers feeding nearly 60 emergency personnel and also providing snacks and drinks throughout the day. Volunteers were again called to aid late Sunday evening when another fire broke out in the same area. Volunteers provided snacks, drinks and provided a place of emergency personnel to rest. The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.
