Remembering 9/11 every year

On September 11th, 2001 I was on the 55th floor on the World Trade Center in NYC when our country was attacked. I was attending a work-related seminar, and my husband Bob made the trip with me, deciding to try and do some sight-seeing while I was at my meeting. I was one of the lucky ones to make it out of that building that day. During the chaos, my husband and I had a very hard time locating each other. Through phone calls to loved ones back in Massachusetts, we were able to meet at a Red Cross station that was set up at a college in Brooklyn. Every year on 9/11 my husband and I donate blood at the Fenway Park 9/11 Blood Drive. The Red Cross has welcomed us into their family and actual arranged for me to throw out the first pitch at a Red Sox game! We feel that donating blood is the least we can do on 9/11. We are grateful that we are here and able to donate each year.
