San Antonio Red Cross and Yellow Cab Announce New Partnership

SAN ANTONIO, TX, December 4, 2012 – The American Red Cross, San Antonio Area Chapter, and Yellow Cab announce a partnership that benefits the community, individuals and families during times of disaster. Beginning today, Yellow Cab will provide taxi services to Red Cross clients in need of transportation who are displaced by house fires, floods, or other disasters that force them from their homes.

“For the Red Cross and those we serve, this is a wonderful partnership,” says Mike Bennett, CEO of the American Red Cross, San Antonio Area Chapter. “Because of insurance regulations, Red Cross vehicles are not able to provide transportation to clients by way of our fleet of vehicles, staff or volunteers. As in many instances, we rely on partners to do what they do best every day, and our arrangement with Yellow Cab is no exception.”

Yellow Cab President, John Bouloubasis adds, “We are glad to assist the community in a time of need. Yellow Cab operates over 570 City permitted taxis and leases good and services to over 800 independent contract drivers that service the riding public throughout the greater San Antonio region.”

Currently, the agreement covers Bexar County and the immediate surrounding areas.
