Save A Life San Diego

Save a Life San Diego

Are you and your family prepared for a life-threatening emergency?

The American Red Cross San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter encourages all San Diegans to learn safety and preparedness skills at Save A Life San Diego, a free event being held at the Balboa Park Municipal Gymnasium on May 12, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

At the event, the Red Cross will teach San Diego families emergency preparedness, safety tips, and life-saving skills such as hands-only CPR training, a potentially lifesaving technique involving no mouth-to-mouth contact. Shortened Red Cross safety sessions on basic first aid, AED (automated external defibrillator) training, water safety and hands-only CPR will be offered on the hour, starting at 9:00 a.m. with the last session beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The sessions will last approximately 45 minutes to one hour and are all free of charge. Children are encouraged to participate with their parents, and families can also enjoy a puppet show together about emergency and disaster preparedness.

The Red Cross is able to provide this free training event thanks to the support of hundreds of Red Cross volunteers, Emerson Network Power and Cox Media.
