Spirit AeroSystems’ employee charitable giving organizations, the Good Neighbor Funds in Tulsa, McAlester and Wichita, and the company today collectively donated $52,000 to the American Red Cross to assist the emergency needs of tornado victims in Moore, Okla.

The donation will be used to help set up shelters and provide meals for families in need.

“The Spirit Employee Good Neighbor Fund is proud to donate to the American Red Cross to help families in Moore who were impacted by the recent tornados,” said Brian Black, Spirit senior manager – corporate public affairs and global diversity. “With multiple Spirit facilities just a short drive away, employees were moved to help our friends and neighbors in this time of need.”

“The Red Cross is extremely grateful for the continued generosity from Spirit AeroSystems and its employees to support disaster relief, said Bev Morlan, regional executive director. “These gifts will provide comfort and hope to those impacted by this devastating tornado.”

Spirit AeroSystems’ Good Neighbor Fund is an employee-run, nonprofit organization that allows Spirit employees to monetarily donate to charitable organizations in their community. An employee-elected board of directors determines where the funds are allocated.
