Take Summer Babysitter's Training at Red Cross of West Michigan

Red Cross to Host Babysitter's Training Day
Classes are currently scheduled throughout West Michigan from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on several weekdays and Saturdays

The American Red Cross of West Michigan is offering weekday and weekend Babysitter’s Training classes throughout the summer to help babysitters get prepared for the busy summer season.

Potential students between the ages of 11 and 15 are encouraged to attend a one-time session to learn leadership skills, gain an understanding and ability to care for kids, and also learn the responsibilities of watching over an infant.

The summer months are typically the busiest time for babysitters and it’s important for a babysitter to know what to do in a variety of situations. Babysitter’s training will talk about understanding playground safety, settling an argument, proper first aid, and much more. This is a great chance for babysitters to gain confidence in their caregiving abilities.

Classes are currently scheduled throughout West Michigan from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on several weekdays and Saturdays throughout the summer. During the school year, these classes are typically only offered on Saturdays. To find a babysitting training class near you, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcross.org/takeaclass.
