Volunteers provide relief after Chelmsford apartment blaze

Volunteer at Fire

American Red Cross volunteers on Sunday helped at least ten people displaced by an apartment fire in Chelmsford.

Volunteer teams responded to 181 Littleton Road just after midnight. There, 28 units were affected by the fire.

Red Cross volunteers provided residents and first responders with water, coffee, snacks and blankets while firefighters worked to knock down the flames.

They provided ten residents with comfort kits and emergency funds for food and clothing. The town of Chelmsford put displaced residents up in a hotel.

Volunteers expect to help more residents throughout the day.
