Warming Shelter Opens for Those Affected by Boulder Gas Outage

The shelter will offer a warm, safe place to stay amid below-zero temperatures.

The American Red Cross is opening a warming shelter at Douglas Elementary School, 840 W. 75th St., Boulder, for residents affected by a gas outage in the Boulder and Longmont area.

According to Excel Energy, approximately 6,000 homes will be temporarily without gas to heat their homes as emergency repairs are completed. The Red Cross is opening a warming shelter to ensure residents have a safe, warm place to stay during the outage – including overnight, if homes remain without heat through tomorrow.
