“AAA is a proud partner with the American Red Cross. We are dedicated to the safety of our communities and their ability to respond in any type of disaster." - Paul Gaffney, President and CEO of AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah

AAA Northern California, Nevada, and Utah is the lead sponsor for a new and innovative disaster preparedness training program, Ready, Set, Respond!, available now to AAA employees and members through June 30, 2014.

“AAA is a proud partner with the American Red Cross. We are dedicated to the safety of our communities and their ability to respond in any type of disaster,” said Paul Gaffney, President and CEO of AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah. “This program is unique as we are not only reaching out to our employees, but also to our AAA Members, giving them an opportunity to learn personal readiness skills that could save lives.”

The 90-minute training program aims to increase awareness of potential disaster hazards in our communities while providing fundamental personal preparedness skills. The program will also educate participants about the Red Cross volunteer intake process following a major local disaster and provide information on the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross.

Through our unique partnership, the Red Cross and AAA aim to multiply the number of citizens that are disaster-ready in the communities we serve in Northern California, Nevada, and Utah through disaster education.

By providing training to our communities, AAA branches will become a community catalyst for disaster readiness amongst AAA employees and the its 4.2 million members. The workshop starts with personal preparedness lessons and is then followed by interactive exercises that will prepare participants to respond during times of immediate need.

AAA Members can sign up for the program at AAA.com/respond.
