One week update - Local Red Cross continues to provide hope and relief

CAMARILLO, October 11, 2013 — One week after a devastating multi-unit apartment fire displaced more than 90 people in Oxnard, the Red Cross continues to provide shelter, food, and comfort to impacted residents. More than 80 Red Cross volunteers have worked hard to ensure that these families receive the care and support that they need after this devastating fire.

The Red Cross is committed to serving these families and continues to work with community partners to find these families long-term sustainable housing.

To date the Red Cross has provided:

  • More than 2,000 meals and snacks
  • 400 overnight stays
  • At this time the Red Cross is not able to accept used clothing or goods. If you would like to donate used clothing or goods, please direct your donations to the Salvation Army of Oxnard, 805-659-3598.
