Red Cross Closes Evacuation Center in Manitou Springs

Manitou Springs, CO – 11:30 p.m., July 16, 2014 – The Red Cross has closed the evacuation center that was at the Historic Congregational Church in Manitou Springs. A total of 14 people signed in at the evacuation center.

Red Cross found overnight lodging for two families that were evacuated in Chipita Park.  The two families, totaling 11 people, were vacationing in Chipita Park. They evacuated when water from the nearby creek entered the house they were renting and began to cutoff road access. They stayed at the Chipita Park Fire Department until the Red Cross found them overnight lodging.
