Red Cross Helps Two Families After Moosup Fire

The Red Cross is helping families with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

MOOSUP, CONN., March 31, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping four adults in two families after a fire earlier today on Aldrich Street in Moosup.

The Red Cross provided help to one adult for emergency housing, food and clothing needs. A second family of three adults was able to make other housing arrangements but is being provided help with emergency food and clothing needs.

Red Cross volunteers Eldon Griffiths and Cathy Wallace responded to assist the families.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
