Paula Montgomery Named Executive Director of Rhode Island Red Cross

Paula has a great blend of organizational, fundraising and management skills.

PROVIDENCE, RI, OCTOBER 29, 2013 — Paula Montgomery has been named Executive Director of the American Red Cross Rhode Island Chapter. American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region CEO Mario Bruno made the announcement today.

 

Montgomery was previously Rhode Island Regional Director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

 

“I am glad to welcome Paula to the Red Cross,” Bruno said. “Her experience in the nonprofit and human service sectors will be instrumental in helping us fulfill our humanitarian mission in Rhode Island.”

 

Montgomery joined Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2010. Prior to that role, she served in a number of capacities with the American Cancer Society, where her last position was State Vice President of Development.

 

“Paula has a great blend of organizational, fundraising and management skills, as well as a commitment to improving the quality of life for Rhode Islanders, that make her an excellent leader in our Rhode Island office,” Bruno said.

 

Montgomery said she is excited about the opportunity to join the Red Cross. “I look forward to working with the strong team we have in place here in Rhode Island,” Montgomery said. “Red Cross employees and volunteers make a daily difference in the lives of Rhode Islanders, helping to build safer, more resilient communities and to extend a helping hand in the wake of disaster. I am proud to join their work.”

 

Montgomery has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Emerson College in Boston and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Rhode Island Chapter.
