Celebrity Designer Donates Handbag to Local Charity Event

MCLEAN, VA - October 15, 2013 – In preparation for their annual “In the Bag” designer handbag auction to support the American Red Cross, organizers were given a rather special donation – a Michael Kors handbag, signed by the designer himself.

The signed handbag, normally valued at $1,195, was donated by way of the Michael Kors store at Tyson’s Galleria. "This donation is a tremendous boost to the potential of this year's 'In the Bag' event," commented Rebecca Vaughan-King, member of the event committee. "With an impressive array of handbags, and a committee full of incredible women, there's really no telling how successful this year's event will be."

Launched in 2010, "In the Bag" is an annual charity event to support the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region. On November 1st, 2013, a committee of volunteers will auction donated designer, vintage and celebrity pocketbooks to help fund the vital services provided by American Red Cross in the National Capital region. The services include disaster relief, first aid training and assistance to military families. Last year’s event raised $100,000 in four hours.
