Eastern Mass disaster expert gets international training
He will bring back with him more experience and training that will help strengthen Eastern Massachusetts.

Luis Matnog is at it again.

The Malden resident and Deputy Chief of Readiness and Response Emergency Services for the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts is currently partaking in an international training in Sutomore, Montenegro.

Matnog is participating in the Field Assessment and Coordination Team Induction Workshop, where he joins about 30 other delegates from Red Cross societies in Britain, Sweden, Geneva, Madagascar, Germany, Denmark, Jordan, Canada, Austria, Finland and Norway, among other countries.

He joins Wendy Brightman, a fellow international delegate who was chosen to co-represent the American Red Cross at the training.

Matnog, who will return on Sept. 20, has participated in many international trainings over the years and responded to several disaster-stricken countries. He will bring back with him more experience and training that will help strengthen Eastern Massachusetts.
