Heroes Campaign Raises $20,000 for American Red Cross of Northwest Michigan

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., June 10, 2014 — The American Red Cross of Northwest Michigan would like to thank community members, organizations, and businesses that became heroes for the American Red Cross by supporting the 2014 Heroes Campaign.


The campaign raised more than $20,000 from April 21-May 21 through online donating and special events including Red Wine for Red Cross, the 5K Fun Run at Cherry Knoll Elementary, and donation drives at grocery stores. All of the money raised will go towards disaster services in Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Kalkaska, and Benzie Counties.


“The Red Cross is so grateful for all of the people who participated in this annual campaign,” said Todd Nienhouse, chair for the 2014 Heroes Campaign and Red Cross of Northwest Michigan board member. “The people, businesses, and organizations who participated are truly heroes in Northwest Michigan and we are so grateful that they see the importance of the Red Cross presence in our community.”
