Red Cross disaster volunteers respond to local disasters like home fires, and also to national disasters like the Oklahoma Tornadoes and Hurricane Sandy.

The American Red Cross is recognizing National Preparedness Month by encouraging community members to become disaster volunteers. Every year, the American Red Cross trains thousands of people and equips them with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide meaningful assistance in a coordinated response effort.

Red Cross disaster volunteers respond to local disasters like home fires, and also to national disasters like the Oklahoma Tornadoes and Hurricane Sandy. Members of the community are encouraged to get involved by attending an introductory Disaster Services Overview course. Become trained now, so you can help when the next disaster strikes.
