Event to be held at Tanglewood
Take a swing for the American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter at the Masters of Disaster Golf Classic August 23 at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton.
“This is a great opportunity for local golfers to spend a day on the links at Tanglewood with their friends while supporting a worthwhile cause,” said Clayton Kennedy, the chapter’s community market manager and tournament director. “We are planning to make the tournament even better than in past years.”
Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m. at the course, located at 818 Golf Dr. There will be a shotgun start at noon.
The four-person, two-flight scramble will have mulligans, skins and buy-ups.
Participants receive a shirt and multiple door prizes with the entry fee.
The fees for a team and hole sponsor is $375. Fee for a four-person team is $300, while the fee for an individual golfer is $75. Prize sponsorships are $250. Hole sponsorships are $100.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit the chapter’s disaster relief efforts, preparedness and health and safety classes and Service to Armed Forces.
There will be hole-in-one prizes on each of the four par-three holes. Hole-in-one prizes include $11,000 in cash, round-trip airfare, a TV and a set of golf clubs.
Unique Red Cross medals will be awarded to members of the first, second and third place team in each flight.
Registration deadline is August 9.
