“Babysitter’s Training provides youth planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants.”

The Red Cross is offering additional Babysitter's Training during the Holiday School Break at six locations in the region. Teens can take advantage of their time off from school and learn how to:

  • Respond to emergencies with first aid, rescue breathing and more
  • Make good decisions under pressure
  • Communicate effectively with parents
  • Recognize safety and hygiene issues
  • Manage young children
  • Feed, diaper and care for infants
  • Start your babysitting business
  • These extra classes are available at Red Cross locations in Fairfield, Princeton, Somerville, and Summit from 10:00am to 4:30pm and at the Glen Ridge Public Library from 9:30am to 4:00pm on the following dates:

    12/23 – Fairfield

    12/27 – Somerville, Princeton, Summit, and Glen Ridge

    12/30 – Somerville and Ridgewood
