CDPHP employees learned the proper steps for performing Hands-Only CPR

The American Red Cross Northeastern New York Preparedness Team provided Citizen (Hands-Only) Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training to CDPHP employees on Friday, March 28. During the training that was provided over four different classes by Red Cross Preparedness Specialist Julie Parlato, CDPHP employees learned the proper steps for performing Hands-Only CPR, as well as the correct usage of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). The training was part of a partnership with CDPHP where the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York has been named the CDPHP 2014 Charity of Choice. The organization will benefit from a yearlong campaign that gives CDPHP staff a chance to participate in dozens of fundraisers and hands-on volunteer opportunities. Each year, more than 300,000 people die of sudden cardiac arrest in the U.S. Citizen CPR is a shortened version of the full CPR-AED training offered by the Red Cross.
