Red Cross launches Boston Young Professionals Society
There are so many young professionals in Boston looking to apply their skills and passions somewhere outside of the office.

Staff members of the Cambridge office on March 11 launched the Boston Young Professionals Society of the American Red Cross, introducing about 40 newcomers to the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross.

Hosted at Carrie Nation Cocktail Club in Beacon Hill, the event featured light appetizers, a speaking portion and a drawing of donated goods. Several new faces came out to learn about the organization and how they can get involved.

“There are so many young professionals in Boston looking to apply their skills and passions somewhere outside of the office,” explained co-organizer Jill Brevik, a Development Officer. “The Boston Young Professionals Society of the American Red Cross can be that outlet for them.”

The BYPS is a dynamic group that seeks to engage the area's future community leaders through philanthropic endeavors while helping them develop their professional talents. Members will help organize fundraising events, participate in volunteer work and educate their networks on the Red Cross Mission. An informational meeting regarding membership will be help next month.
