Red Cross Offers First Aid Training For Coaches
The course teaches skills that enable participants to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill athlete or bystander until more advanced medical personnel arrive.

The American Red Cross of Tompkins County will host a First Aid- Responding to Emergencies class for high school coaches who are preparing for the fall season. The class will have two sessions: 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, both at the Red Cross Tompkins County office at 2 Ascot Place, Ithaca.

The program helps coaches recognize and respond appropriately to first aid emergencies and meets New York State coaching requirements. The course teaches skills that enable participants to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill athlete or bystander until more advanced medical personnel arrive.
