Students Learn Valuable Skills at Youth Leadership Camp

Western New York
They learned ways them themselves can get help if they need it and how they can help others in need.

The American Red Cross Greater Rochester Chapter hosted a Youth Leadership camp as part of the Next Generation Leaders Program during February break. The Students spent the week learning about what services the Red Cross provides and how they can get involved.

The camp’s primary focus was on leadership. Guest speakers provided students with information on how to write an effective resume, to successfully interview for a job and how to manage their personal image. They also learned about opportunities in the area available to them to get started on their path to a successful future.

Students in the program also heard from speakers from various agencies. These representatives helped provide more information about the needs of families and youth in our community that are living in poverty. They learned ways them themselves can get help if they need it and how they can help others in need.

The Red Cross provided the camp to students at no cost to them. Food was also provided each day for the participants.

Plans are already underway for a spring session of the camp. Those interested should contact Jennifer Taylor at (585) 241-4261 or
