The American Red Cross of Hardin County is hosting their 5th annual Golf Scramble Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course on State Route 309. Registration for the event begins at 7:30 a.m. and a shot gun start kicks off the event at 8:30 a.m.
Four member teams will compete for a vast array of prizes. The event is sponsored by various businesses throughout Hardin County. The first place team will win $250, second place $200 and the third place is $100. Skill contests will include a $10,000 Hole-in-One, Closest to the Pin on two of the Par 3, Longest Drive in Fairway, and Longest Putt on the 18th Green. Mulligans or a "do-over" to replay a stroke will be $20 per team. Skins will pay 75% back. A skin is claimed when a golfer outdoes the rest of the group and wins an individual hole.
“Prizes and fun are in store and it’s a great way to kick-off summer with friends or co-workers while supporting the mission of the American Red Cross,” said Audrey Hankins, county director of the American Red Cross of Hardin County, “People truly helping people in our community…because of your continued support, Red Cross can be there to provide emergency assistance whenever there is a need. Please attend for a great day and cause!”
People can register at the golf course or by contacting Hankins at the Red Cross office located at 1025 South Main Street in Kenton or calling 419-674-2295. The fee per person is $60 for non-members of the Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course, $40 for members without cart privileges and $30 for members with cart privileges. Checks are payable to the Hardin County American Red Cross. The fee also includes lunch for the registered players.
Proceeds raised during the event support the programs and services of the American Red Cross of Hardin County.
