Red Cross Responds to Secor Terrace Apartment Fire

Recovery for the residents will continue the next few days and weeks as Red Cross volunteers provide direct assistance and referrals for items such as bedding and support with security deposit or rent as clients have need.

The American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio responded to a large apartment fire in the early morning of Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Secor Terrace Apartments, located at 4902 Secor Road in Toledo. The Red Cross assisted 21 families (30 adults and 16 children) with emotional support, food, clothing, infant supplies, comfort kits, medical needs, and temporary shelter. Disaster Action Team (DAT) members Frances Amison, Lawrence and Pearlia Kynard, and UAW Local 14 affiliated DAT volunteers Tammy VanRiper, Heather Finfrock, Deneen Dillard, and Sherri Thornton responded to the scene.
