You can donate blood, volunteer and fund critical disaster relief. But did you know that you can donate a vehicle in support of the American Red Cross, too? The Red Cross has launched a vehicle donation program with Insurance Auto Auctions (IAA) that converts unneeded vehicles into Red Cross donations to help those in need.
The program offers an easy donation process with convenient, free pick-up and towing and a tax-deductible way to dispose of unwanted vehicles.
“People may think their old vehicle is worthless but the donation could be priceless to someone in need of Red Cross services,” said Cindy Silveira, chief development officer for the American Red Cross Cascades Region. “
Making a vehicle donation is easy, and can make a difference To donate a vehicle, visit redcross.org/cardonation, call 855-92 RC CAR or contact a local Red Cross Chapter office to make arrangements. IAA representatives will pick up your vehicle at a time that’s convenient for the donor at no cost. They will then sell the vehicle and provide the donor a tax receipt on behalf of the Red Cross.
The vehicle donation program, which turns clunkers into compassion and care, is available in all 50 states, and accepts cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, snowmobiles, jet skis, tractors, farm equipment and more, in any condition—even salvaged. Donated vehicles will be sold for the maximum value possible, and the proceeds will go entirely toward supporting the mission of the Red Cross: preventing and relieving suffering for people every day.”
