The Clara Barton Society Hosts “An Evening With Clara Barton”

(Bethlehem, PA) - On Wednesday, October 9th from 6PM to 7:30PM, the “An Evening With Clara Barton”, celebrating their 10-year anniversary, will host “An Evening With Clara Barton” event at the Hotel Bethlehem, sponsored by PPL Electric Utilities. Award-winning actress and Smithsonian Scholar, Mary Ann Jung will take you on a journey through time as American Red Cross founder Clara Barton. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the history of Clara Barton and the American Red Cross and to socialize with fellow Clara Barton Society members, including this year’s co-chairs Dennis and Linda Urban.

The Clara Barton Society, founded in 2003, is an American Red Cross major giving and recognition initiative. The society includes people who share Clara’s vision and choose to help prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies through their generous contributions to the American Red Cross. The Society recognizes individuals or couples who demonstrate an annual financial commitment of at least $1,000 annually in support of the American Red Cross Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter. All gifts – cash contributions, securities, and/or property – are acknowledged toward membership in the Society. This year, a $35,000 challenge grant was given through an anonymous donor that will match increased giving dollar for dollar.

Please contact Jennifer LoConte, Communications Director, to coordinate media interviews and attendance.
