10 Annual Berks County Heroes Awards and Breakfast, Celebrating a Decade of Heroes

(Reading, PA) January 10, 2014– The 10th Annual Berks County Heroes Awards & Breakfast will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 7:15 AM to 9AM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1741 Papermill Road, Reading.  Dr. Tim Ring, an internationally recognized forensic psychologist and trauma specialist will be the featured guest speaker.  Dr. Ring has volunteered with the Red Cross disaster relief efforts during 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

Each year, the Berks County Chapter of the American Red Cross honors community members who have demonstrated heroism through remarkable acts of courage or kindness in Berks County. Awards will be given in the following categories: Fire Safety; Animal Rescue; Law Enforcement; Adult Good Samaritan; Medical; Youth Good Samaritan; Military; Community Impact; and 911 Dispatch.

Nominate your hero today. Nominees must live or work in Berks County. The heroic action must have taken place between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013.  Candidates who are chosen as heroes will be formally honored at the Heroes Awards & Breakfast.
