American Red Cross Accepting Nominations for Everyday Heroes - Nominees to be honored on May 14, 2014


SCRANTON (January 13, 2014) – The American Red Cross Lackawanna County Chapter is accepting nominations for the 2nd Annual Everyday Heroes Awards which will be held May 14, 2014 in Scranton.

Everyday Hero nominations are being sought in all categories including: Good Samaritan, Firefighter, Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, Medical, Military and Pet Rescue.  Everyday Heroes are everyday people who live, work and play in our communities. They can be family, friends or neighbors who have performed the extraordinary deed of rescue and/or saving a life.  Nominees must live, work or attend school in Lackawanna County. The heroic act must have been performed between January 1 and December 31, 2013. Additional criteria are listed on the attached nomination form.

Nomination forms can be obtained by calling (570) 823-7161, ext. 329 or email caro.crane@redcross.org Forms can also be picked up at the Lackawanna County Chapter, located at 545 Jefferson Ave., Scranton. Chapter hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Nominators of successful nominees will be provided a courtesy ticket to the breakfast. (location to be announced at a later date).
