Everyday Heroes Honored for Courageous and Selfless Deeds
The Red Cross Everyday Hero Awards honor everyday people who go unrecognized for courageous and selfless deeds.

Gus Catalano thought he was just doing his job when he helped save a toddlers life last year. But for the family of that 18-month-old child, the EMT was nothing short of a hero.

Catalano was one of eight people that were recently honored with a Red Cross Everyday Hero Award by the American Red Cross of Lackawanna County (recently) for providing extraordinary service to others and saving lives.

The Red Cross Everyday Hero Awards were presented on October 16 at Genetti Manor in Dickson City. Approximately 150 people attended the breakfast, including master of ceremonies Dave DeCosmo of ECTV and honorary chairs Congressman Matthew Cartwright and Attorney Marian Munley Cartwright.
