Red Cross Helping 18 People After Sunday Fire in Woonsocket

The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs to the displaced families.

WOONSOCKET, R.I., SEPTEMBER 23, 2013 – The American Red Cross is helping 18 people – 10 adults and eight children – in three families after a Sunday afternoon fire in Woonsocket on South Main Street. The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs to the displaced families.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
