Red Cross Helps Family of Three After Providence Fire

Red Cross Responds to Home Fire
The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing and food needs.

PROVIDENCE, R.I., July 18, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping a family of two adults and one child with emergency housing and food needs after a fire yesterday on Maynard Street in Providence. Red Cross volunteers Melissa Shires, Steve Carr and Dan Costa responded to assist the family.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire. 

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
