Donate a Vehicle to Support Red Cross

AIKEN, S.C. December 16, 2013 – Have an unwanted vehicle you are looking to donate for a good cause? Donate it to the American Red Cross.

The American Red Cross partnered with Insurance Auto Auctions (IAA) in July to launch the nationwide vehicle donation program as another way people can donate to the Red Cross. The vehicle donation program offers a tax-deductible way to dispose of unwanted vehicles with the proceeds from the sale going to support the Red Cross mission. The program accepts cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, snowmobiles, jet skis, tractors, farm equipment and other types of vehicles, in any condition—even salvaged.

“The vehicle donation is simple, easy to do, and is at no cost to the donor,” said Derek Dugan, executive director of the Aiken Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. “By donating a car, truck, or even a boat to the Red Cross, you are making a difference in the lives we touch every day.”
Don’t wait to donate. To receive credit for 2013, please call 1-855-92RCCAR or go to http://www.redcross.org/cardonation before the end of the year. The Red Cross makes it easy to donate a vehicle by calling to schedule a pick-up at a convenient time and at no cost. IAA will sell the vehicle and send the donor a tax receipt on behalf of the Red Cross.
