A BIG THANK YOU to Benefitfocus for providing their parking lot for Zac Brown concert goers to park for a donation to the Red Cross. Nearly $11,000 was raised to benefit Red Cross’ vital services and programs to the community.

“We were excited to be a part of this fundraising opportunity for the American Red Cross,” said Nina Sossamon-Pogue, Vice President, Marketing & Communications at Benefitfocus. “Our associates are very active in both community service and social outreach, and we have a long standing relationship with the Red Cross. We are always looking for new ways to help this great organization raise the money they use to save lives.”

The Carolina Lowcountry Chapter of the American Red Cross assisted 1,095 individuals affected by disaster in the Lowcountry last year. The chapter also trained 7,569 people in the Lowcountry in lifesaving skills, such as CPR/AED and First Aid, sent 2,653 emergency messages to members of the armed forces and their families and distributed 59,590 units of blood to area hospitals.

“We appreciate the opportunity Benefitfocus gave us to raise funds for the vital services we provide in the Lowcountry,” said Louise Welch Williams, regional chief executive officer of the American Red Cross Palmetto SC Region. “Generous supporters like Benefitfocus, enable the Red Cross to be there whenever and wherever we are needed. “
