2nd Annual Wisconsin Disaster Training Conference

The American Red Cross is known for its disaster relief & emergency management efforts.

American Red Cross chapters across Wisconsin are combining forces to host the 2nd Annual Wisconsin Disaster Training Conference from October 16-20, 2013 in Wausau, Wisconsin. Red Cross volunteers (and staff) will be receiving classroom to hands-on knowledge and experience to cross-train, reinforce and engage the best core of disaster responders possible. People of all ages, and life-experience, are encouraged to become local responders before garnering the experience to respond nationally to places like Moore, Oklahoma or Hurricanes that strike our coastlines. Each attendee must be a registered volunteer and there is time to complete the online application process, background check, online orientation session, etc before registering for the Training Conference.

While at the Westwood Conference Center, attendees will gain knowledge and skills required to help people affected by disaster in a confidential and efficient manner. For the people we serve it is stressful and with a coordinated response we can provide immediate support as well as provide tools and techniques for their longer-term recovery. Plus, attendees will network with others from around the state and even across our state borders.

You must be a registered Red Cross volunteer to take these FREE courses. If you're not already a volunteer, fill out this volunteer application to get started.
