Red Cross helps
24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the American Red Cross is responding to disasters large and small.

Disaster Relief

When a disaster threatens or strikes, the Red Cross is there. This year our team responded to 428 local disasters, helping 614 affected families with emergency food, shelter and supplies.

Preparedness

The Red Cross provides disaster education presentations to over 29,000 individuals in the community a year to help them prevent, prepare, and recover from disasters or other life-threatening emergencies. Our partnership with Gallaudet also allows us to provide special preparedness materials for the visually impaired.


Nurse Assitance Training

Nurse Assistant Training

The Nurse Assistant Training Program offers comprehensive academic and hands-on clinical training to prepare you for employment in the health care field. The instructors are Registered Nurses committed to excellence. They provide both classroom and clinical experience based on established principles of care: safety, dignity, independence, communication, infection control, and privacy.

Community Services

88,810 people in the region were touched by Red Cross community services during the past year. Young people in the community volunteered to assist local residents, and volunteers worked with men and women in military hospitals.

International Services

The international tracing program helps local families find relatives with whom they have lost contact due to natural disasters, wars, or internal conflict.


Health & Safety

CPR, First Aid and AED Training

From first aid, CPR and AED training to swimming and lifeguarding,Red Cross programs help people lead safer and healthier lives. We offer CPR, First Aid, and AED training as well as swimming and lifeguarding lessons. We have taught 92,754 people life saving skills in classes throughout the region.
