Services to the Armed Forces

  • Services to the Armed Forces Cental Kansas Chapter

The American Red Cross provides an exclusive worldwide communications and support network that serves as a lifeline between military service members and their families. For the American soldier and his or her family, the Red Cross is the connection to home, relaying urgent information – a family crisis, a death in the family, a family emergency or a joyous birth.

Tragedy can strike a family any time, day or night, and separation due to military service often makes it difficult to reach a man or woman in uniform. The Red Cross communications system is capable of reaching family members residing in the largest and smallest communities, as well as ships at sea, embassies and isolated units.

When a family faces an emergency at home, getting that news to a family member in the armed forces is crucial. Red Cross in central Kansas has a cadre of dedicated volunteers who assist in expediting these messages. Our volunteers assist military family members within our community during a time of need.

It is very important for the service member’s family to have the following information available:

  • Full name
  • Rank
  • Branch of service
  • Social security number
  • Military address
  • To request American Red Cross services to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families, please call us at 1.800.RED.CROSS. We’re available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
