Welcome to the American Red Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Red Cross with offices in Hazleton, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Tunkhannock serves about 600,000 people in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Susquehanna and Wyoming counties. We help residents recover from disasters like fires and floods, provide life-saving training in first aid and CPR and collect blood for the entire region.

bill goldsworthy

Bill Goldsworthy, Executive Director

Bill Goldsworthy was named Executive Director for the American Red Cross of Northeast PA in the spring of 2015. Prior to joining the Red Cross, Goldsworthy served four years as former Governor Tom Corbett’s Deputy Director for the Northeast Region.

Goldsworthy has an extensive business and community service background. He served 14 years as Mayor of West Pittston while also working for three decades at Golden Business Machines. Goldsworthy helped the company grow from a small, local business to a regional company covering 20 counties.

He remains active in several other community organizations as well. Goldsworthy serves on the Board of Directors for both the Wilkes-Barre and Pittston Chambers of Commerce and remains an active volunteer firefighter with the West Pittston Hose Company #1. He started there when he was 18 and later served a number of years as borough fire chief. Bill is also an Eagle Scout and former Scoutmaster for Troop 352.

Bill and his wife Jannet reside in West Pittston. They have four children and three grandchildren.
