American Red Cross Health & Safety Services is the leading nationwide provider of education and training programs that help people every day to prevent, prepare for and respond to occupational, community and family health and safety emergencies. Our mission is to educate people and save lives.

You can sign up for a wide range of life-saving training courses in the Boston and Eastern Massachusetts area, including everything from First Aid, AED & CPR training to lifeguard certification. The American Red Cross also offers Certified Nursing Assistant training to prepare people all over Eastern Massachusetts for careers in the Health Care field. We also offer Emergency Services training to help our volunteers prepare for and respond to disasters.

Aquatics

Since 1914, the American Red Cross has proudly trained lifeguards to protect the nation's families at swimming pools, waterparks, recreation center, camps and other aquatic facilities. The American Red Cross is the leading lifeguard training organization in the country, training approximately 190,000 lifeguards annually over the last few years. The current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Program continues a tradition for the highest standards in training and the most current techniques and methods in lifeguarding.

Nurse Assistant Training (NAT)

Nurse Assistant Training (NAT) has been an American Red Cross program in some version for the past 20 years. The program is designed to provide an individual with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the state exam and become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). This guide provides information and guidance to chapters that may have an interest in offering the NAT program. The guide will also assist chapters with starting and maintaining the program.

Phlebotomy/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Health Care Provider

The 50 hour course will train individuals to become knowledgeable and work or advance their skills in various locations such as hospitals, trauma/emergency rooms, physician offices and medical clinics.

Designed for individuals who want or need to learn to administer medications in Department of Mental Health (DMH) or Department of Developmental Services (DDS) adult residential and day programs ONLY.
