  • FAST vehicle

The First Aid Support Team (F.A.S.T.) utilizes volunteers certified in first aid, CPR, Medical First Responders (MFRs), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), nurses, lifeguards and other rescuers from the community to deploy to medical emergencies or first aid requests at athletic events, races, fairs, concerts and other events. The staff, led by a physician medical director, receives extensive training in medical care and customer service.

Since 1975, F.A.S.T. members have logged more than 6,000 volunteer hours, providing event medical services in Michigan at over 100 events a year, and giving care to nearly 1,500 patients in 2012 alone.

F.A.S.T. is trained and ready to respond to any medical situation from minor first aid to chest pain and cardiac arrests. Teams can be equipped with Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs), emergency oxygen, Epi Pens, spinal immobilization gear, over-the -counter medications and a wide range of first aid supplies.

F.A.S.T. can quickly deploy to any medical emergency or first aid request utilizing foot patrols and off-road emergency vehicles. Also available are free-standing tents, an enclosed first aid trailer and command center or a first aid station as well as a treatment center that can be placed in a customer supplied building. Misting tents and lines are available for outdoor events.
