Ready When the Time Comes

Ready When the Time Comes

The Ready When the Time Comes program trains employees of participating companies and organizations as Red Cross disaster volunteers to serve in an emergency.

The program, established in 2001, in its first 10 years trained more than 13,000 employees nationally from 460 businesses and organizations in 52 cities to be Red Cross disaster volunteers. These volunteers have been part of Red Cross disaster responses, such as flooding along the Mississippi River, Hurricane Irene and deadly tornadoes.

W.W. Grainger Inc. is the national founding sponsor of the Ready When the Time Comes program, which in 2011 was selected as one of five finalists for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) 2011 Partnership Award. This award, one of four Corporate Citizenship awards from the BCLC, honors a company and a charitable organization that have exemplified success working together to address an important social issue.
