  • Red Cross Greater Albemarle Chapter About Us Home Fire Response

The Greater Albemarle Area Chapter of the American Red Cross headquartered in Elizabeth City, NC has been serving this community for over 90 years.

The Greater Albermarle Area Chapter was originally chartered January 4, 1918 as the Pasquotank County Chapter. In 1996, the chapter added 6 counties to the service area and one more in 1999. On October 30, 1999 the chapter was rechartered as the Greater Albemarle Area Chapter comparing the service area to the early Colonial “County Albemarle”.

We currently serve the counties of Pasquotank, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, and Perquimans.

The Greater Albemarle Area Chapter is known for its excellent disaster program, especially in response to home fires.
