  • Red Cross Rochester Youth Leadership


The Youth Leadership Program (YLP) of the Greater Rochester Chapter of the American Red Cross was created for the purpose of developing high achieving and diverse young leaders across Monroe County at the high school level. Through this FREE program, Youth learn essential Leadership and Life Skills that they can take back to their homes, schools, community and utilize in support of Red Cross’ mission. Unlike a traditional classroom, students will experience a more interactive experience allowing for real-life exposure and a more hands-on approach.

  • Experience planning and implementing American Red Cross mission-based Service Learning projects (Blood Drives, Fundraisers and more)
  • Improve self-awareness and personal confidence
  • Exposure to career and volunteer opportunities at the American Red Cross
  • Instruction from local community leaders
  • Knowledge to start a Red Cross Club in their school
  • Prepare for career and job( Resume building, career exploration and more)
  • On-site local Industry and College information
  • Networking opportunities with community leaders
  • Community service hours required for graduation


Youth in grades 9 through 12 from Monroe County with at least a 2.5 GPA, satisfactory school attendance and who are willing to make a commitment to take on leadership roles in their school and community.


Sessions: After school and once a week beginning in Fall 2015
